Obituary for Shirley Ann Bosanec

Surrounded by her loving family, Shirley Ann Bosanec, age 77, of Berkeley Springs, WV, entered her heavenly home on July 23, 2017, at Winchester Medical Center following a brief illness.

Shirley was born in Clarksburg, WV on August 8, 1939, to Joseph and Mary Bosanec. Shirley loved spending time with her family and spent many years graciously caring for her sister, Sharon Rokisky. Prior to her illness, she resided at War Memorial Hospital Nursing home and was loved by all the staff and residents. She enjoyed participating in the many activities, playing BINGO, and sharing time with friends, residents, and staff. Shirley also loved watching movies, playing cards, and listening to music. She was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Shirley is survived by her brother-in-law, Thomas F. Rokisky, of Sunset Beach, NC; niece, Krista Henderson and husband, Scott, of Clarksburg, WV; nephew, Jody Rokisky, and wife, Kerri, of New Market, MD; niece, Stephanie Bunnell, of Shinnston, WV; and nephews, Steven Rymasz, of Nutter Fort, WV and Joe Rymasz, of Virginia. She is survived by many great nieces and nephews including Andrew and Kalie Henderson of Clarksburg; Cameron and Chase Rokisky of New Market, MD; Christopher Bunnell of Clarksburg; Courtney Bunnell of Pittsburgh, PA; and Nicholas and Elizabeth Rymasz of Clarksburg.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Margaret (Barbino) Bosanec; and sisters, Sarah “Weezie” Rymasz and Sharon Rokisky.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place in Memphis, TN 38105.

Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home 329 E. Main Street Clarksburg, WV, on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 4 until 8pm, a Prayer Vigil will begin at 7:30 to conclude the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 10am with Father Chris Turner as Celebrant.
