Jessie Odell Swallows, 86 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed from this life Monday, July 24, 2017, at his home in Cookeville.

He was born Friday, May 29, 1931 in Brotherton, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Jimmy and Sara (West) Swallows.

He was a loving Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a Barber for 33 years in Cookeville, Tennessee. He loved being with his family especially his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, fishing, working with his hands and helping others.

He is survived by:

1 Son and Daughter-in-law:
Russell W. and Trish Swallows of Cookeville, TN

2 Grandchildren and Spouse:
Chris and Heather Swallows of Cookeville, TN
Marie Reed of Cookeville, TN

4 Great Grandchildren:
Kobe, Bryson,and Myles Swallows , and Taylor Reed all of Cookeville, TN

1 Sister:
Emogene Neal of Cookeville, TN

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his Wife: Shirley (Haynes) Swallows, 2 Sisters: Dorothy Dishman, ,Nola Boatman,and Lucille Boatman, 4 Brothers: Carson, Ray, Burr, and Burton Swallows.

Funeral services for Mr. Swallows will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 beginning at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Malone and Pastor Steve Tiebout officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, July 27, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again Friday from 11:00 am until time of service.
