Obituary for Eddie Joe Dill

Eddie Joe  Dill
Mr. Eddie Joe Dill, 76, of Harrisburg departed this life Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Eddie was born September 21, 1940 in Greenfield, Arkansas the son of Chester and Thelma (Presson) Dill. He married Miss Bobbie King on April 22, 1961 and they have enjoyed fifty-six years of marriage. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents: Chester and Thelma Dill, two brothers: C. H. Dill and Hubert Dill, one sister, Roberta Knobloch, and one Grandson, Devin Scott Cole. He enjoyed hunting, working around the yard, and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Out of high school Eddie joined the United States Navy and served six years. He worked with the Poinsett County Sheriff Department as a jailor and worked several years as Security Guard at the Social Security Office in Jonesboro. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Harrisburg. Eddie is survived by his wife, Bobbie of the home in Harrisburg, one son, Eddie “Joey” Dill II and wife, Randye they live in Cabot, one daughter, Tonya and husband Scotty Cole of Harrisburg, three grandchildren: Nolan Dill, Sam Simmons, and Shayna Tucker, six great-grandchildren: Sawyer Dill, Charlotte Dill, Lily Simmons, Trytan Tucker, Thayer Tucker, Olivia Thetford, and expecting great-granddaughter, Thadley Tucker in September. Graveside services were held July 27, 2017 at 3:00 at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were conducted by Bro. Charles Lewis Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. These men served as active pallbearers: Bryan Rorex, Brett Greene, Sherman Drum, Kevin Loughary, Nathan Tucker, and Floyd Tucker. The honorary pallbearers were: Ronnie Morris and the Sidney Creek Hunting Club. Arrangements were made by Jackson’s Funeral Home.
