Wilford Bert Ware Jr., 72, a resident of the Volusia County area, passed away Wednesday evening July 26, 2017 at home following a long-term illness. He was born January 2, 1945 in Bronx, New York to the late Florence (Suling) Rotroff and Wilford Bert Ware Sr. He moved to the Volusia County area as a teenager and upon graduating from Mainland High School, served in the National Guard for 8 years. Wilford worked in the retail industry as a manager and consultant until his retirement. Wilford enjoyed the Florida lifestyle and outdoor activities, which included vacationing at his timeshare in Vero Beach, lounging at the pool, and during his younger years playing golf. Wilford was a proud father, known for his sense of humor and enjoyed making his children and others laugh. In recent years, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and received great joy and satisfaction by attending family events such as holiday gatherings and birthdays. Wilford was known and beloved by the children as "Grandpa Bill".
Wilford was preceded in death by his first wife Rosemary (Futch) Ware, daughter Wendy (Ware), father Wilford Ware Sr., mother Florence Rotroff, and stepfather Charlie Rotroff. He is survived by his sisters Florence Grady and Dolores Cruce, his two sons Warren Ware, William Ware, two daughters, Deetra Ware, Shannon Ware, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and two great granddaughters.
