Brevard College was a special place because of the people who were there together, and Rusty was a special part of that family and we all feel the loss greatly. I enjoyed watching Rusty as a part of an amazing soccer team, but more than a gifted athlete he was a friend to all who were there. He will be missed every time we gather in Brevard. Condolence: I have many fond memories of my friend during our time at Brevard and learned much from him. He was genuine, sincere and caring--and a man that charted his own path. As a suit mate, he taught me to "test the rules"--and when you added Kevin Riley to the mix, trouble was around the corner. As a teammate, he challenged us all to excel--by his own example.
