The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Douglas Roe can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Greg Morris
Condolence: Although I didn't spend much time with Doug, I had a fishing trip with him as a child and a hunting trip as an adult. He was always a gentleman and I remember him with fondness. There was also the day that he rescued my best friend and cousin, Mike Morris and me when we were stranded in late fall on an island across from Doug when our boat slipped away. My condolences to family and friends.

Condolence From: Joanne MacDonald
Condolence: I am sending condolences to all of the Roe family on the loss of Doug from my mother Audrey MacDonald. She and my Dad Donald were great friends of your parents in the 50ties. Dad and Doug attended Ryerson after high school down here in Cornwall. Mom is saying they were part of the Dr Taillon gang down here, which means they played sports from age 13 till graduating from Ryerson and both couples started married life in Johnstown and Brockville. Keeping in touch till Don passed away in 2010. My Mom is 84 and somewhat forgetful, Seeing Doug's obituary in the Cornwall paper has prompted many memories and made for some great reminiscing today. She is so sorry that she can not attend tomorrow and sends her regrets again on the passing of Doug. Joanne MacDonald

Condolence: Dear Sandra, Pam and family, Yves and I are so sad to learn of Doug's passing. What wonderful neighbours he and Joan were to us in Johnstown. We had some fun get-togethers. We were delighted when Doug moved into Brockville beside our building shortly after we moved. Neighbours again! We often crossed paths and had a good chat. We will miss Doug.
