September 29, 1938-August 15, 2017
Andy went to be with the Lord at the age of 78, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. He is pre-deceased by parents Wieger & Nel (vande Beld), wife Ina (Ruiter), and son Tony. He will be lovingly remembered by Tony’s wife Betty and their sons Derek & Kyle; Mike & Mary-Jo and their daughters Jennifer (and daughter Aria), Kathryn (Joshua), & Julia (Braden); and Sonya & David and their children Esther, Jacob, Maaike, & Leah. He is also survived by siblings Arend (Olga) of Kitchener, Ontario; Jan (Eef) of Kentville, Nova Scotia; and Ank (Jaap) Vos of Sleen, Drente, the Netherlands. He is fondly remembered by Ina’s siblings Bert (Marja), Michiel (Aaf), Liesbeth (Jaap), Ali, & Arie, all of the Netherlands. Andy was also loved by many nieces, nephews, and their families. Special thanks goes to the staff and administration team of Parkview Meadows, Townsend for their excellent care and the Alzheimer’s Society of Haldimand-Norfolk. Visitation will take place at the Ancaster Christian Reformed Church, 70 Garner Rd. E., from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, August 18, 2017. All are welcome to join us on Saturday, August 19 at the Caledonia Cemetery for the committal service at 9:30 am and at 11:00 am for a memorial service at the Ancaster CRC with a light lunch to follow. Donations in memory of Andy would be appreciated, to Parkview Meadows or Hamilton District Christian High School.
