Billy Dean "Bill" Barks, 74, of Bloomfield, MO, formerly of Wayne County passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017, at his residence. He was born May 20, 1943 at Hiram, MO, to parents Ralph Charley Barks and Effie Pauline (Allen) Barks
He is survived by his wife of thirty five years Brenda Godsey; his children, Pam Birmingham and husband Wayne of Silva, MO, Deanna Kelso and husband Rob of Walker, LA, Steve Godsey and companion Lisa Sitzes of Farmington, MO, Arlen "Bud" Summers Jr. and wife Katherine of Silva, MO; nine grandchildren, Levi Birmingham and wife Tiffany, Austin Birmingham and wife Hannah, Breanne Shepherd, Carlee Gibson, Raycheal McFadden, Stephanie Godsey, Daniel Barks, Tyler Tucker, Marie Umfleet and husband Codie; seven great-grandchildren, Kailee, Eryn, Aliviah, Wyatt, Ellie, Maximus, and Gracie; one sister, Lois Jaco of Greenville, MO. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Paul Jaco.
He had worked as a long haul flatbed truck driver for many years. He was a Christian and attended St. Joe General Baptist Church near Bloomfield. Bill took very good care of his family. He was a handdup to his family always putting them ahead of himself and being a blessing to everyone he met. He was a hard worker, loving husband, and enjoyed hunting and fishing
Visitation was held Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 6:00 pm at Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville. Funeral service was Sunday, August 20, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial was at New Prospect Cemetery.
Bro. Terry Sanders ministered to the family. Raggy Skaggs, Bob Kelso, Daniel Barks, Tyler Tucker, Danny Jaco, Ricky Foster, Levi Birmingham, and Austin Birmingham served as pallbearers. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
