The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mamie Jackson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

She got to meet her Great-Great-Great Granddaughter

In April 2017 I had decided that I was going to visit my grandmother's (Mamie's granddaughter) house with my daughter. It was around my Nanna's birthday and we decided to go and see her. This visit was such a delight. My daughter got to meet her Great-Great-Great Grandma. Not many people could say that they met their Great Grandma's Grandmother. This was a meeting that was 5 generations or 9 decades in the making.

4 months after this great meeting I got a message from my Auntie saying that Nanna passed away and I was in shock. At the funeral home I just couldn't look at my Nanna lying there in her coffin. I tore me to shreds. Even though everyone there has lost a part of their life, she will forever live on in our memories and in our hearts. I have so many memories from 2002-2004 with her. When I called her on her birthday in 2014 and she didn't even know who I was calling her. We spoke about 20 minutes before we ended the call.

In all, I just want to say that I really miss my Nanna. The Matriarch of this growing family. Hundreds of us, all started with her. Mamie Jackson (McNary). I know she is having a great time as an angel in Heaven. May she live, while she rests.
