Obituary for Barbara D. Gehris (DeTurk)

Barbara D. Gehris 95, formerly of Mt. Penn, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Berkshire Center, Exeter Township. She was the wife of the late John D. Gehris Jr. "Pebs" who passed away on July 10, 2013. Barbara was the daughter of the late Francis and Marie E. (Endy) DeTurk. She was a Mt. Penn graduate and was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. Barbara is survived by two sons John F. of Mt. Penn and Mark A. husband of Cindy of Exeter, and a daughter, Ann L. wife of Richard Serfass of Wernersville. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Adam, Kerry, Jenna and Nathan and one great grandson, Chase McDonald. Barbara is predeceased by an infant son and one brother Lester E. DeTurk. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with services beginning at 1:00 pm at the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606.
