Obituary for Kenneth Patrick Gairrett

Kenneth Patrick Gairrett passed away on August 26, 2017 in Billings, MT. He was born on June 30, 1958 to Dale and Lorene Gairrett. He was born in Cody, WY and spent much of his childhood living in the surrounding states. He joined the United States Army when he was 17 years old and shared the same enlistment date as his father. During his service, he spent time in Missouri, Kentucky and Germany. After being Honorably Discharged he met his wife, Renee Nadine Blakley and they both moved to Fairbanks, AK.
They were wed on February 12, 1986 and were happily married for 31 years. During their time in Alaska, he held many different titles such as butcher, operator, fire dispatcher, and even owned his own landscaping company. His first-born son, Kenneth James Gairrett, was born while living there on August 6, 1988. Shortly after, they moved to Billings where they’ve spent the last 29 years.
Knowing he now had a family to support, he started his career as a Truck Driver. He worked for companies like Willis Shaw, Empire Sand and Gravel, and Knife River. With this career, he was also able to return to the state he loved and worked in Prudhoe Bay, AK for almost 10 years. During their years in Billings, Ken and Renee welcomed a beautiful set of twins. Brandy Nicole and Kevin Jacob Gairrett were born on July 12, 1994.
Family was always the most important thing to Ken. He finally gets to see his Father, Mother, sister Julie, niece Annie and nephew Eric, brother-in-law Shawn, and many other loved ones. He is survived by his wife, children, sisters Jan, Connie, and Kelly, brothers Monty, Mike, Gary, Zane and Roy. He is loved and will forever be missed by all who knew him. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday September 1, 2017 at Smith Downtown Chapel.
