Condolence: This is a year late but I just found this obituary and had to comment. Im SO sad to learn of Willen’s passing. I was a student of his a Forest Heights in the 80’s and spent many extra hours in his art studio sharing his passion for art and screen printing. I have a full set of his dancing dragons! He was an amazing artist and interesting, kind man! After he retired, he’d often call me up to go for lunch and we would talk for hours. He was SO proud of his sons and always wanted me to me them but it wasn’t in the cards. When my son was born ...he made me a series of nursery rhyme drawings and framed them ...so thoughtful. He loved to talk about his younger days when he sold everything and explored the world with the loves of his life! I tried looking him up several times over the past 5 years or so but couldn’t find where he went. I did so again today and was so sad to find out he had passed away. My sincere condolences to the family. He loved you all so much! I have missed seeing him and miss him even more now that I know I won’t see him again. What a lovely man ...I’ll always remember him! Sincerely, Linda

Condolence: So many memories involving Uncle Wink...the cottage, the schoolhouse, his corn cob pipe, water skiing....He was an interesting man - he will be missed.

Condolence: Very sorry cousins Mark, Matt and families for your loss. Uncle Wink was one of a kind; a teacher, philosopher, and adventurer. I remember his athletic prowess, pro-waterskiing at Lakeside. During a recent visit with Dad and the Rosses I was surprised to discover a scooter in his room. What a guy! Take good care.

Condolence: Heart felt sympathies to Willen's family. Gratitude for the friendship he gave our family, and my Mom, Isla Johnson. Willen made a huge difference in my live, and in the lives of many. His quick wit, ready laugh, keen insights, imaginative (and good!) art, command of the english language, and willingness to share his philosophies readily....gifts that will never be forgotten.

Regrets that I can not attend in person, due to medical issues.
