Condolence: To Mrs. Adams’ family,
The Chang family is very saddened to hear of your loss.
My father, Dr. Richard Hsiao Chang, anaesthesiologist, worked with Mrs. Adams for a long time at the Jewish General Hospital. I also had the pleasure of working with her, as a surgical aide (summer relief) in the Operating Room for many years. My father and I admired Mrs. Adams’ strength as well as her integrity and respect that she held for all who crossed her path.
As my career in healthcare led me into progressive leadership positions, I fondly recall a moment when I sought her advice. Her response to me was “Eileen, it is just common sense, which most people seemed to have lost. ”
To this very day, I still share her advice with my colleagues.

Condolence: To the family of Isabelle Adams. I am a surgeon at the Jewish General Hospital and worked with Isabelle for many years. I was very saddened to hear of her passing and wanted to express my deepest sympathies to the entire family. Here at the JGH, we have wonderful memories of her as the Nursing Supervisor in the OR. Really, there was no one like her and she will be terribly missed.

Condolence: Dear Adams Family,
So sorry for your loss. I have very fond memories of Mrs. Adams from 1976 when I started my first nursing job in the OR at the Jewish. She was indeed different than most of the other management people, clearly smarter, so much kinder, and one of the few with a decent sense of humour.
I am surprised that I didn't find many more messages from old colleagues and from some of the surgeons that I knew when I first worked there. I guess that those of us who remember her fondly are getting pretty old now too, and some must have gone before her.

As a student nurse in the OR at JGH, I fondly remember your Mom, as being helpful, caring, and fair, at a time when "supervisors" were sometimes tough on students.
I fondly remember pleasant encounters over the years in the hallways of the hospital, a place where many of us remained for our entire careers.
She was a strong, and admired manager, who really knew her specialty. A true professional.
