Obituary for Paul E. Haiges
Paul E. Haiges Jr. of Brackney, died Thursday August 31, 2017 following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. His wife of 51 years is the former Mary McCafferty.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Paul and Marian Kindred Haiges. A graduate of Penn State University and of SUNY Binghamton, he proudly served in the New York State National Guard attaining the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by IBM for over 30 years as an electrical engineer.
Paul was a proud lifetime member of the NRA and was a longtime fire policeman for the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Company. He was a very intelligent man who could talk for hours about things no one could understand.
Also surviving are son Paul Haiges III and wife Vicki, Sayre; daughter Beth Fisher and husband Joseph, Greenfield Twp.; grandchildren Jessica and Chelsea Haiges, Emily Peduto, and Karly Zindle.
Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s memory to the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Company P.O. Box 133 Brackney, PA 18812.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted and are under the care of the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave. Scranton.
