On September 1st, we lost our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Our loss is the Lord's gain. She was born in Oklahoma City on July 14, 1928 to Carl Hayes and Evelyn Barham Hayes. LaVonna is survived by her 3 children by her 1st husband, Laua Judge Bearden, Jr. Children are Nancy Lynn Ramsey, Laua Daniel Bearden, and Patricia Ann Abney. LaVonna also has 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. LaVonna and her late husband George Hitz loved to travel and were avid photographers. She and George took school pictures around the Winnsboro area and beyond. She was twice President of the UMW-United Methodist Women's Group, taught Sunday School, taught Monday afternoon bible- study, active fund raiser for Morgan's Mercy Mansion, started and organized Christmas in the Park- an annual non-denominational event in which all churches are welcome and encouraged to participate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Morgan's Mercy Mansion, Lavonna Hitz memorial fund, 402 S. Chestnut St., Winnsboro, Texas. Visitation will be at 11:00am, funeral at 12:00pm Thursday, September 7th at Beaty Funeral Home, 816 W. Broadway, Winnsboro,Tx 75494, 903-342-5211.
