William “Bill” Harkins, 81, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, September 4, 2017. A visitation will be 1-2pm on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A memorial service will follow at 2pm. Bill was born on November 25, 1935 in Staten Island, NY to Jerome Leslie and Ellen (Ryan) Harkins. Bill was united in marriage to Eileen Seiler on May 23, 1959. Together they had 3 children. He worked for Pullman for 35 years. He loved music and playing his baby grand piano. Bill will be remembered by his daughters Eileen Greathouse and husband Keith, Colleen Jimboy and husband Todd; grandchildren Jeremy Joseph, Jillian Nieweg, Matthew Greathouse, Harrison Harkins, Sean Harkins, Emily Harkins, Jenny Jimboy, Shawn Jimboy, Chris Jimboy and Trey Jimboy.
