Condolence: Mark, I never dreamed I would be writing this. We were together over 40 years, it hardly seems possible. Our lives will never be the same, there will always be a void in our collective hearts. Thank you for being the husband you were. Thank you for our three children. Thank you for providing for us all these years. Thank you for affording me the opportunity to be a stay at home mom when our kids were young...for understanding what it meant to me. I am so proud of your courage the past year and a half. Seldom did you complain, all you wanted was to get to the bottom of what was ailing you. So many doctors, tests and procedures...All we wanted was for you to feel better and get your strength back. You were a fighter, Mark. Much stronger than most would expect from your easy going, gentle nature. You were the calm in my turbulent sea. I'm the one who struggled with anxiety, you were the one who calmed me. It's only been the past year that nothing you could say or do would allay my fears, as I grappled with the ongoing concern over your health issues, with the constant, nagging fear. You were losing weight, declining, despite all the doctors' reassurance. I pray to God I was able to hide my distress from you, and realize you hid a lot from me so I wouldn't worry, but I would have done anything to see you feeling well and in good spirits. Now you are gone, and we're lost without your presence in our daily lives. You were the best thing that ever happened to us, and we miss you more than words can say. I see you everywhere, Mark. i love, miss, and need you, as Michael, Stephen, and Mary Kate do. You enriched our lives beyond measure. We love you so much. Thank you, my one and only.
