Heather Annette Harrod, 17, of Macon, passed away suddenly Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Lizella Baptist Church in the Family Life Center. The family will greet friends two hours prior to the service at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Chris Minton will officiate. Immediately following the service, Heather will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Heather was born December 9, 1999. She was the daughter of Angela and Gregory Harrod. Heather was a senior at Rutland High School, where she was a member of the band for three years and played the clarinet. Heather loved soccer, and was an extremely active member of the Rutland Lady Hurricanes Soccer Team. She was a key role in leading them to the playoffs in her junior year, by scoring every goal in that game. Heather was very involved with Best Buddies, a club that pairs students with special needs children. In her free time she loved to shop, loved her animals, and never passed up a good meal. Heather was a friend to all who knew her, and she never met a stranger. She had a witty sense of humor and a sweet generous heart. Heather was her happiest when she was spending time with her friends and family. Her precious, kind, spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
