Condolence: My deepest condolences to all of the Paulicelli family.

How do you know when you are a young guy entering Grade 7 that you will meet someone that will become your lifelong friend? Fortunately that happened with Dean and I, and 45 years later it is tough to say goodbye. There are so many great memories along the way.

He loved sports, especially hockey even though he couldn't skate. He surprised us though when we put a sponge hockey team together back in the late 70's called The Transcona Blues. Maybe Dean couldn't skate, but you put a pair of broomball shoes on him and he could fly and score. It was where we tagged him with the unusual nickname of Ubri (Ubriaco)in honor of a little known NHLer at the time. Funny how that nickname has stuck all these years.

We also entered a shuffleboard league for a couple of years back then and we had a great time. However, looking back we played in places that had pretty tough reputations and we maybe should have had second thoughts about entering some of them. When you are young you are pretty fearless about things like that.

Dean loved music and he is probably the only one I know that knew all the words to Frank Zappa songs. We had great times listening to music wherever we ended up on weekends. It was great popping over to the Paulicelli's for a few pops and for some of Poppa Joe's pizza.

Deano, I am going to miss you brother. Keep the air guitar tuned up for the next time we meet.
