David Linwood Jones, Jr., 73, passed away September 25, 2017. Born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late David and Ruth Niles Jones, David served in the Army National Guard and worked as a repair technician for National Cash Register. Upon retiring, he went into the construction industry building and renovating several homes for friends and family. David was one of the founding members and President of the Outer Banks Shag Club for eight years. He was also a member and DJ'd for Virginia Beach Shag Club, River City Shag Club, and Boogie on the Bay Shag Club. David was a loving, caring, and supportive husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by all.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 53 years, Sharon H. Jones; daughter, Shelley J. Parker and her husband, Michael; son, David L. Jones, III and his fiancee, Deana Phipps; grandchildren, Sarah and Wesley Parker and Riley and Clayton Jones; sisters, Lois Jones and her husband, Larry Jones, who recently passed away and Eleanor Atkinson and her husband, L. Van Atkinson; and a host of other family and friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Moyock Baptist Church, 123 Oak St., Moyock with a reception to follow.
