Obituary for Phyllis Freeman
Phyllis “PJ” Freeman, 89 of Brielle passed away on Sunday October 1, 2017 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Phyllis was born and raised in East Orange and moved to Bloomfield in 1951. She was a graduate of East Orange High School and attended Trenton State College for 2 years and then graduated from Berkley Secretarial School. Upon her graduation she became a secretary for Phoenix Life Insurance Company New York, NY. She worked there for almost 40 years and retired as an executive secretary. Phyllis enjoyed shopping and her dog Nitro. Phyllis was a very generous person donating to such organization as Catholic Charities, Veteran’s organization and animal rescues.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents Sydney and Madeline Freeman and several cousins including her cousin who was like a brother to her, Fred Sigrist. She is survived by her sister Carol Stephens of Brielle and numerous cousins.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ 08736. Graveside service will be 2 pm at Restland Memorial Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
