Obituary for Simona D. Mireles (Mireles)

Simona D. Mireles was born on October 28, 1933 in Brazito, New Mexico to Petronilo and Felipa Mireles. She later resided in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She passed away at her childhood home on Thursday September 28th, 2017 surrounded by family. She was a devoted and loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, a loving sister and daughter and friend to many. She enjoyed attending services and mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for many years. She provided child care for family, and friends and worked at Century 21 Motel for many years as a valued and hard working employee.
Survivors are her sisters, Clara Brodnax ( Ollie Brodnax), Felipa Romero, Nestora Mary Marquez (Pedro Marquez) brother Trinidad Mireles and many nieces and nephews and other family members.
She was preceeded in death by her mother Felipa MIreles on October 11, 1992, and her father Petronilo Mireles on December 29th, 1965, and her sister Hortencia Duran on October 31, 1992. She will be missed greatly and remembered for her kind heart, her generous spirit, and for being like a mother to many of the nieces and nephews and anyone that was blessed to have known her.
There will be a visitation on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 5-7pm and a Rosary to follow at 7:00pm at Getz Funeral Home. On Saturday, October 7, 2017, a Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with a burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery following the Mass. Pall bearers are Leandra Rigales, Eric Rigales, Nick Rigales, Jaime Leonard, Jimmy Rubio and Richard Romero.
