Nellie Thompson, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. She was born on June 27, 1933 to the late J.T. and Maggie Lee Vinson Carter.

In addition to her parents, Nellie is preceded in death by her husband Odell Thompson. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Bloom of California, granddaughter, Lisa McCaulley of Nashville, sister and brother-in-law Nancy and David McCuen of North Carolina, sister Judy Pullum of Sparta; nieces Nanette Stahl of Mississippi, Melody (Ray) Tilley of North Carolina, Lisa Manus of Cookeville; nephew Jerry Pullum (Laura) of Sparta. Several great nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins also survive.

Nellie was employed at Vanderbilt Hospital for many years. Later, she and husband Odell operated an automobile upholstery shop in Eupora, Mississippi.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Services will be at Oak Lawn Funeral Home Friday, October 6th, 2017 with Jerry Pullum officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30pm until 3:00pm. Funeral will be at 3:00pm with burial to follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
