Robert R. (Bob) Tietz
Was born on Oct 9, 1953 at St Patrick's Hospital, in Missoula MT to Rueben and Helen Tietz.
He died at home in Missoula on October 1, 2017, due to pancreatic cancer.
He was educated in Missoula Schools, Lewis & Clark, Russell and Sentinel High School.
After serving 4 years in the Navy, he returned to Missoula and enrolled at Missoula Tech Center
and attended classes there for short time. Next he went to work in the University of Montana
print shop where he held the job of pressman for 8 years. Then came an opportunity for his
dream job, being a traveling repairman of printing equipment, which he held for 18 years,
attending numerous company schools in Seattle, Chicago and Rochester NY.
Bob loved the outdoors, camping, jeeping, riding ATV's and his Harley motorcycles, enjoying
the great Montana outdoors. He was known to drink a beer or two from time to time, have a
funny story to tell and make people laugh. He also enjoyed having projects going, working on
his house, working on his Harley motorcycles and general fix it projects.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rueben Tietz, and niece Trisha Reilly.
He is survived by his mother Helen, sister Linda Reilly (Brian), sister JoAnn Best (Terry) and
sister Mary Langlotz (Rick) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Grizzly Harley Davidson conference room, at 5106 East
Harrier Drive in Missoula on October 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
Griz gear is encouraged.
Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be scattered above Thompson Lake at a later
date.
The family would like to thank Partners Hospice for their last year of help and support,
especially his Nurse Terry and Social worker Ariel.
