Obituary for Rudolph "Rudy" Davis Jr.

Rudolph “Rudy” Davis Jr. age 75, born December 25, 1941 entered into eternal rest on October 2, 2017. Rudolph was the only child of the late Paul Jackson and Patty Genetta Davis. Rudolph was born in Newark, New Jersey and graduated from the Essex County New Jersey school system.

He is the father of Norman Hatcher, LaVone Renee Auston and Reginal Davis. Through his marriage to the late Leonia Patricia Davis, he became step-father to Jeffery, Mark, Lee and Craig. He and Leonia were the God-parents of Ciah’Mere Evans, Pikesville, Maryland.

Rudy was employed by Pabst Blue Ribbon and Anheuser-Bush as a laborer for many years. He retired before moving to the Las Cruces area.

Prior to his short illness, Rudy was known for his lengthy walks. He would “stroll” through the community and the Las Cruces area, no matter the weather hot or cold. And although he never had a driving license he could always direct the person driving, to their exact destination.

He was loved by family, friends and neighbors and his memory will be cherished as he will be greatly missed. Also, left to cherish his memory a sister-in law Gwendolyn Jenkins, three daughter-in laws Nicole, Heather and Andrea, nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
