Obituary for Donald L. Brown

Donald L. Brown
Donald L. Brown, 63, of Lancaster, passed into the Loving Arms of his Savior on Monday morning, October 2, 2017. Don’s parents, Janet S. and David M. Baker, and R. William Brown, predeceased him. His sister, Debra Kauffman, wife of Bruce, of Manheim, survives him, as does his nephew Randy Shank, husband of Lauren Shank, of Johnstown, PA, and their two sons, Dominick and Patch Shank.

Don loved and missed his parents, and shared many stories of the love and life they provided for him. We have peace in our hearts knowing that he is back with them, surrounded in their love. The family is also very grateful for the love and care shown to Don by his friends, Tammy and Barry Spece, with whom he lived.

Don worked for Keystone Services, Goodwill, and absolutely loved his work, his supervisors and his coworkers. He was so proud of the years he worked for them, and the opportunities they gave him. For many years he worked at Kitchen Kettle Village, through Keystone Services, and always spoke of the love and generosity of the Burnley family, and his colleagues there.

We will all miss Don’s heart. He loved his Lord, and found the beauty and good in everyone. Through the many struggles Don faced in his life, he had a smile and a cheerful thought for everyone he met. He loved playing games, watching old TV shows, Arch Street Center, the Green Bay Packers, and roaming Park City! He loved his Family and his Friends and would do anything he could for them! His generous spirit fills our memories, and our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you keep Don’s spirit alive by doing something kind to put a smile on someone’s face. Donations made to Arch Street Center, 629 N. Market St., Lancaster, PA 17603, or www.archstreetcenter.org , in Don’s memory, will be greatly appreciated and put to wonderful use!

A memorial service to celebrate Don’s amazing and generous spirit will be held at Wrightsville Hope UMC, 404 Hellam St. Wrightsville, PA on Friday, October 13th at 1:00 in the afternoon. Family will greet guests beginning at 12:30, and a small luncheon in the church social hall will follow the service.

Interment at Silver Spring Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements by the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, PA 17403.
