Obituary for Martha Jean Funk
Martha Jean Funk, 95, of Waynesboro, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Waynesboro Hospital. Born June 19, 1922, in Mansfield, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Alice (Harley) Cooper.
Martha was a member of the Waynesboro Brethren In Christ Church and also attended Waynesboro Bible Church. She worked for Landis Machine Company during World War II, the Waynesboro Knitting Mill, Waynesboro Sportswear, and drove busses for Boone, Wishard, & McCleaf Bus Service until 2004. She enjoyed gardening, and loved her family and cats.
Martha is survived by two sons, Rodney (Kay) Funk of Waynesboro, and David L. (Della) Funk of Fayetteville, and a daughter-in-law, Sandra J. Funk of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. Martha was preceded in death by her husband John J Funk, a son, James Funk, and a great-great grandson Atticus John Myers.
Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 AM October 13, 2017, at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, with Pastor Darryl Gentry officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
A viewing will be held 6 – 8 PM Thursday, October 12 at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc,. Mercersburg PA.
