Obituary for Priscilla "Saning" Acoba
Susana Priscilla “Saning” Jose Acoba, 78, born on May 27, 1939 in Vintar, Illocos Norte, Philippines to Salvador Jose and Evarista Dada Jose, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 15, 2017.
She was preceded in death by both parents; and her sister, Aida Vistacion.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Eduardo Rogelio Albano Acoba; daughter Gina Acoba Bueno (husband Manuel, deceased); son Nilo Acoba (wife Rowena); granddaughters Joy Ortiz (husband Hector), Jill Gobbi (husband Damien), and Jessie Wright (husband Jonny); grandsons Archie and Arleigh Acoba; great grandchildren Jaide, Jayce, and Jaxen; sisters Pilar Mabini, Reynalda Acoba, and Liwliwa Mabini; and brothers Villamor Jose, Pepito Jose, and Vicente Jose.
Saning and Eddie, her husband, came to the United States from the Philippines in 1990. She instantly became an admirable babysitter for the local Sandalwood neighborhood children whom she loved very much. Saning also worked at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club as a housekeeper for several years and then transitioned to a packaging handler at Tech Packaging before retiring in 2007. She enjoyed tending her garden, growing all kinds of fruits and vegetables she would delicately cook in the kitchen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Her giving spirit, generosity, perseverance, and selfless acts will become her legacy, and for that, she will be truly missed.
The Acoba and Bueno family will receive friends for a Visitation Gathering on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 6-8pm at Arlington Park Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 2pm, Saturday, October 28, 2017 in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Leon Myers officiating. The family will welcome friends one to two hours prior to the service for fellowship. A Graveside Blessing will immediately follow at Arlington Park Cemetery.
