Obituary for
Leonora "Money" King
Ms. Leonora King, affectionately known as “Money”, was born on August 19, 1958 to Mary Lewis and the late James Robert King in New York, New York. She was the fourth of eight children. God, in his infinite wisdom, granted “Money” her wings on Saturday October 21, 2017.
Money spent the early years of her life in New York and later relocated to Spring Lake, N.C. She obtained her education in the Cumberland County School System and received her Associate’s Degree from Fayetteville Technical Community College. Money took great pride in her work as an educator for Cumberland County school system.
She was a loving person who was unselfish in her efforts to provide support to anyone she knew. Money dedicated time daily to reading her bible and she took great comfort in her relationship with God. As we pause to pay tribute to our beloved “Money”, we commend her to God’s safe keeping as we deplore our loss. Assured of our Father’s love, we bow in humble submission to His will.
Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her parents, Mary Lewis and Otha Johnson of Spring Lake, NC; two children, Tyisha Royster(Ellis) of Charlotte, NC; Ikeem McKoy of Spring Lake, NC; two grandchildren, Ny’asia Spears and Ellis Royster III; three brothers, Robert King(Pamela) of Spring Lake, NC; Raymond King(Lynn) of Baltimore, MD; Tyrone Lewis(Cassandra) of Boston, MA; four sisters, Betty Evans of Spring Lake, NC; Elizabeth Branch of Aberdeen, MD; Deloris Tomlinson(Chucky) of Aberdeen, MD; and Jeanette Deelee(Thomas) of Fayetteville, NC;. Money was blessed to have an extended family circle that includes many she considered her children; Michelle, Marlo, Tawana, Shalisha, Dior, Olivia, Man, Charles ,John and Charles and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
