Mr. Sylvester Josey, 77, of Atlanta, passed Wednesday, October 25th, 2017.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, November 1st, 2017, 12:00 pm, at Herschel Thornton Mortuary 3346 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW Atlanta, Georgia 30331. Interment Lincoln Cemetery.
Public Viewing will be Tuesday, October 31st, 2017 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Herschel Thornton Mortuary 3346 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW Atlanta, Georgia 30331.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his devoted wife Mattie; beloved children, Miranda Jones, Andre (Catherine) Josey, Wanda Swain, Derrick (Cassandra) Josey and Mario (Anita) Josey; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers William (Margaret) Josey, Robert Lee (Monteena) Josey; four sisters Minnie (Theodore) Hornsby, Ilean Taylor, Patsy (Kenneth) Broughton and Judy Thurman; one sister – in-law Mary Josey; one uncle, Dave Jackson (Detriot, MI); one aunt, Eloise Burns, and numerous relatives and friends.
