Condolence From: Janet Gerhauser Carpenter
Condolence: I knew of Shirley as I was in the era just behind her at the St. Paul Figure Skating Club. She was beautiful and admired and had an extensive skating career. My condolences to the family.

Condolence From: Mary Jane Conway King
Condolence: Shirley (and Dick) were wonderful friends to all of the Conways and we had lots of fun times together throughout the decades. In the Maidens group, Shirley was the "athlete" based on her skating prowess. She was a treasure and will be missed.

Condolence From: Andrew Shaw
Condolence: Dear John and Jim, your mom was one of the most wonderful, warm, welcoming people I've ever met, and she was a huge influence on me in my early years at Dartmouth (back when I had crutches and all, if you recall). Not as big an influence as the two of you, but between her and your dad, almost! So I'm very sorry to hear the news of her death. Great loss to all of us, but particularly to the two you. You will still have all the great memories...
