Richard H.  Geiger
Richard H. Geiger, 84, of Reading passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017, in The Manor at Market Square, Reading. He was the husband of the late Kathryn I. (Burkhart) and Margaret "Sam" (Westcott) Geiger. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Franklin and Ethel (Sharp) Geiger. Richard was a member of St. Andrew's U.C.C. and worked as a tool and dye maker for Car-Tech until his retirement. He also was an avid golfer, bowler and a member of the Steeler's Club and the Northmont Fellowship Association. Richard is survived by four daughters, Inez Whipple of Tucson, Arizona, Amy Geiger of Reading, Lisa wife of Ron Kretzman of Pennside and Alta wife of Peter Bachtlin of Shillington, and five grandchildren, Kathryn, Kara, Nicole, Natalie and Alanna. He is also survived by step children Jeffrey, Michael and Susan Doerrman as well as sisters Lucille Dettrich, Sheila Scott, Joanne Jennings, Nancy Benoit and brother Ronald Geiger Sr. A graveside service will be held on Friday November 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Berks County Memorial Gardens 201 Evansville Road, Fleetwood. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Andrew's U.C.C., 1320 Spruce St., Reading 19602 . Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. Mount Penn in charge of arrangements.
