Kalyn Dukes was a pleasure to work with to create our plan for our final resting place at Serenity Meadows. She was very kind, knowledgable and friendly throughout the entire process and made us feel very comfortable with no pressure. Thanks Kalyn!

One of the nicest facility and very flexible to meet your funeral process. Staff is exceptionally well train to go above and beyond. We had to do funeral and cremation with Indian ritual amid of covid crisis with several limitation under safety guideline of local and Florida health dept. , Anna (funeral Director) was very accommodating to our family for entire process. I admire the management and entire team with sincere appreciation how they manage during the pandemic.

My husband died in January 2009. The funeral director at that time could not have been more compassionate. He worked with me in conjunction with my Church and spared nothing! I would recommend Serenity Meadows to any family for their needs at such a vulnerable time. I have already prearranged my own funeral with Serenity.

This was my first experience with a funeral home. I was beyond impressed with Serenity Meadows. Most of my dealings were with Jennifer & Ana but every staff member was very kind and courteous. I can hardly find the words to express how pleased I was with their kindness, compassion, and professionalism.
Jennifer handled all the funeral arrangements and was very accommodating and helpful. I was very appreciative of the way Ana handled the cremation process, telling us exactly what to expect. They handled my mother's body with the utmost dignity and respect. I highly recommend them!

Nothing but nice things to say about these folks. Jeanie was so sweet helping us pick plots, and Jennifer handled the arrangements. They were kind, supportive, and helped us keep the expenses fair. I was very worried because it seems to be a business that has some unscrupulous folks. That was not the case here. They were very open and honest, and the facility was great.

Life Story for Laura Ann Hughes

Laura Ann Hughes
Laura Mitchell Hughes, age 34, of Valrico, Florida went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, October 27, 2017. She is survived by her three sons Cody, Brady, and Dylan Hughes; parents Frank and Deborah Mitchell of Freeport, FL; sister Jennifer Hitchcock (Bill) of Valrico, FL; ex-husband David Hughes and his parents Wingfield and Dorothy Hughes of Lithia, FL; brother-in-law James Hughes (Becky), sisters-in-law Susan Mosher (George) and Deborah Spears (Jim); maternal grandparents Reverend Russell and Betty Varner of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; uncles Gary Varner (Diane) of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Mel Mitchell (Carole) of Indianapolis, Indiana; cousins Joe Mitchell of Uniontown, OH, Nichole Mitchell of Columbus, OH, Lindsay Mitchell of Albany Kentucky, and Shannon Mitchell of Acworth, Georgia. Preceded in death by paternal grandparents Frank and Betty Mitchell of Selma, Alabama and uncle Allen Mitchell of Selma, Alabama. Laura was a lovely, funny, silly, gracious, and gorgeous (on the inside and out) person. She was a treasured employee of FishHawk Fellowship Church in Lithia, FL where she was also a member. She loved her job as a children’s ministry assistant where she fervently worked to make a difference in the lives of the children and parents she served. Laura had one of the most beautiful, kind, gentle, and amazing spirits, and everyone who ever met her was touched by her genuine and positive personality. Laura was also an athletic person and participated in various races. She especially loved running in the Turkey Trot with her boys on Thanksgiving and numerous races held at Disney World yearly with her friends. She might not have been the best or fastest runner, but she always finished each race. Laura also loved watching movies, going to Busch Gardens with her boys, and music. She earned the honor of singing in her high school show choir The Ambassadors during her senior year and loved every moment of it. Above all, though, Laura was a wonderful and loving mother to her boys. They were her entire world, and she strove every day to meet their needs and show them God’s love through the love of a strong, Christian mother. She cherished the unique personalities of each one and loved and respected them for their individual qualities. Laura lived an authentic and graceful life, and she touched everyone she met with her shining smile and her generous ways even while battling brain cancer for ten months. She radiated Jesus’ love through the pain and never lost hope in Him. She was one of the best of us, and God has welcomed her to heaven with open arms and has told her “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Laura will be sorely missed by her family and friends who wait for the day they will be reunited with her. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at FishHawk Fellowship Church, 15326 FishHawk Blvd. from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with reception to follow. There will be a private interment at a later date. Donations can be made to the children’s trust, CBD Hughes Trust or Life Path Hospice House, 3725 Upper Creek Dr, Ruskin, FL 33573, 813-634-7621.
