Condolence: Carol and family:

I met Rob (and Carol) about 20 years ago when I first moved here from South Carolina. Although our initial dealings were brief, whenever I saw Rob in the years thereafter he always approached me as if we had been closest companions forever. He was without fail genuinely interested to know what was going on in my life, and would have talked for hours had time allowed. In all the times I have seen him, he never had anything but a smile on his face and a sparkle in his eye, and I never heard him speak ill of or complain about anyone or anything. To the contrary, he was always full of compliments, encouragement and best wishes. It was if he were eternally happy and loving, and he always brightened up my day. The world needs more of people like him. What a sad loss to our community, and a gracious gift to the Heavens. I'm sure he is warming everyone's hearts and souls wherever he is. I bet he even brought snow.

Condolence: I knew Rob as a soft spoken, kind man who was always genuinely interested in everything I had to say. My daughter was his favorite waitress at his favorite restaurant near his condo and I would chat with him when I ran in to him in town. My daughter was so distraught when he stopped coming in, until some friends of Rob's came in to the restaurant and reassured her that although he was in the hospital, he was doing alright. She was heartbroken to hear of his passing. He was always so kind to her and encouraging her in her studies. He will be truly missed. Such a gentle soul can only be looking down from heaven. God Bless.

Condolence: Rob was a great guy and wonderful skier. I first met him when he ran a clinic for new instructors in the 1960s up at Big Mountain. Years later, he and I skied together with the legendary founder of the Professional Ski Instructors of America, Curt Chase, at the Rocky Mountain Ski Instructors spring clinic at Copper Mountain. I feel blessed, as a 50+ year member of PSIA to have known Rob, had him mentor me as a new member of the profession, with his positive, easy-going approach and his grace on two boards dancing down snow covered slopes. I've always felt that if you can touch another positively, that is the greatest achievement in life. And he touched me that way. Fond memories of his quiet, slow and smooth voice, and the always present twinkle in his eye.

Condolence: Carol and Family,

I met you and Rob at our family video store 30 years ago and
even though the store is long gone each time I saw you and Rob
out and about he never failed to stop and acknowledge me. He was the kindest and most uplifting person I have met in a long time. Your family was so lucky to have had him as your husband father and grandfather. He exemplified a life well lived!

Condolence: Our family had the privilege to know Rob for 65 years. He was a trusted friend, a true gentleman and great neighbor. His spirit will live on in the trees around the camp and especially those near Pebble Beach. Our neighborhood on Flathead Lake will not be the same with his passing. We will remember fondly Rob's kind soul and his generous nature.

To son Rob, Carol, Peg and family, please accept our condolences for your loss.
