Bernice Elaine “Bernie” (Dobson) Lindermuth, age 92, of Brookville, PA, passed away surrounded by her family as a resident of the Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA, on Sunday, November 5, 2017. She was born on November 13, 1924, to the late Harry and Alice Mae (Davis) Dobson, in Worthville, PA. On February 22, 1943, she married Richard B. Lindermuth in Brookville, PA; Richard preceded her in passing. Bernie has an extensive work history which includes Sylvania Electric, Glenn RediMix, Baughman Coal Company, Dr. Steve Love’s office, the Gold Eagle in Brookville, PA, she was also a door holder at the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville, PA, and she volunteered at numerous places in the Brookville area. She worked hard and was well liked by those who knew her, she also was awarded Woman of the Year in 2006. Bernie was a member of the Roseville Independent Chapel, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Auxiliary #983 in Brookville, PA, the Brookville Fire Company Auxiliary, and for almost 70 years she was a member of the Brookville Fireman’s Club. While she was in the Jefferson Manor she volunteered in the gift shop, and she would sit with those who were especially ill; she enjoyed staying as busy as she could. Bernie is survived by 4 sons; Glenn (Dawn) Lindermuth of West Palm Beach, FL; James (Sandra) Lindermuth of Brookville, PA; Paul (Pamela) Lindermuth of Brookville, PA; Barney (Kim) Lindermuth of Brookville, PA; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, Bernie is preceded in death by 2 brothers; Clarence Dobson, Kenny Dobson; 1 daughter; Alice Hetrick; and 2 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825. A second day of viewing will take place on Thursday, November 9, 2017, from 9 – 11am, at the Roseville Independent Chapel, 3381 US-322, Brookville, PA, 15825. A funeral service will immediately follow the second viewing, beginning at 11:00am, and officiated by Pastor Jim Fillhart. Interment will take place at the Worthville Cemetery, Ringgold Twp., Jefferson Co. PA. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Roseville Independent Chapel.
