Obituary for Alexander Nicholas Joseph Lovenuik

Alexander Nicholas Joseph Lovenuik
Say not in grief: "He is no more", but live in thankfulness that he was.
It is with some tears but many happy memories that the family of Al Lovenuik announce his death at the age of 74 years.
Al had a great sense of humour and was known to play the occasional practical joke. He loved fishing, camping, watching the Oilers and Blue Jays, and warm weather, especially if it was in Vegas. He was skilled at many things, such as woodworking, and his high work ethic was incredible, but he burned every grilled cheese sandwich he ever made. First and foremost, Al loved spending time with his family. Al's heart condition prevented him from doing things he enjoyed when he was younger like skiing and cycling, but he defeated the odds and lived 20 years longer than doctors initially predicted.
Al loved his family and will be missed by his wife of 43 years, Heather; daughter, Bonnie (Mike) and their children, Mikayla, Kiera, Treston, Kaden and Kai; and son, Nicholas (Megan). His sisters, Mary, Elsie, and Margaret; and sister-in-law ,Dorothy; will miss the baby of their family. He will be fondly remembered by sister and brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Al has joined his parents, Nicholas and Anna; his brother, Steve; and brothers-in- law, Joe, Chris and Ray.
A Celebration of Al's Life will be held Monday, November 13 at 3:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT & Nunavut, Suite 144, 5241 Calgary Trail NW, Edmonton, AB T6H 5G8.
