Obituary for Paul Aaron Delaney

Paul Aaron Delaney
On Tuesday, November 7, beloved son and father, Paul Aaron Delaney, lately of Missoula, passed away due to complications of PTSD sustained during his time of military service.
Paul was born and raised in Helena, MT, graduating from Helena High in 2006. He grew up in the Cathedral neighborhood, playing with his pals, enjoying the devotion of his dog, Sandy and going on many adventures with his mom. He played tenor and baritone sax in the Helena High band, even tackling the bassoon during his senior year at the encouragement of his teacher, Mr. Loveridge.
Paul entered the Army shortly after his 19th birthday and was recruited by the Old Guard – the Honor Guard serving at Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, VA, where he became a member of the Salute Guns Platoon. Following three years at Arlington, he completed the remainder of his service at Fort Benning, GA.
On December 14, 2011, Sophia, the delight of his life, was born to Lexi and Paul. Paul doted on his little girl and Sophie knows that her daddy truly loved her.
Survivors include his daughter, Sophia, his former wife, Lexi, his mother, Gabrielle Delaney, and many caring friends who loved him like family. As a memorial, the family requests that any donations be made to NAMI (National Association on Mental Illness). A celebration of Paul’s life will be forthcoming in the spring with interment at Fort Harrison Cemetery.
We love you and miss you, dear Paul.
