Obituary for Joan Mary St. Jarre

Joan Mary St.Jarre

With heavy hearts, we sadly announce the loss of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Joan St.Jarre. She was born July 7th,1933 and passed away peacefully in her sleep November 9th,2017. She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her as a caring, considerate lady who was always willing to help anyone in need. She enjoyed her friends thoroughly, whether she was playing cards, making her dolls, teaching others or just chatting. Her family was her world and her reason for being. Pre-deceased by husband Armand and daughter Mary. She will be lovingly remembered by son Ralph (Ivana), her best friend and son Paul, daughter Nancy and her youngest daughter Carol, grandchildren Sara (Aaron), Amy and Lindsay, great grandson Ezra as well as Ivana’s children Samantha, Justin and Joshua. Our mother was a lady who was self-taught as she had to leave school in grade 7 to care for her sick mother but she had a life-long passion for learning and challenges. Through her first 12 years of marriage we moved to at least 6 different towns between Ontario and Quebec as dad was an ironworker and went where the jobs were. Through this she was raising 5 kids between the ages of 11 and 1 and then decided to run a foster parenting home, become an artist and an accomplished porcelain doll maker among other talents. The house on S. Norah St. was always bustling with kids and friends at any given time of day. We will miss her dearly. In respecting her wishes a private service will be held in her honour, if you wish, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are in care of the Sargent & Son Funeral Directors, 21 N. Court Street. On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
