Obituary for Duane Arthur Bauer

Duane Arthur Bauer
Duane Arthur Bauer, 75, beloved husband of 49 years and best friend of Faith Eiss Bauer passed peacefully from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Friday, November 10, 2017.

Duane was born on August 30, 1942 in Beulah, North Dakota to Arthur and Martha ( Mai ) Bauer. He was the second of eleven children. He lived in Zap, ND until he graduated high school.

Duane was a veteran of the US Navy. He proudly served from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1966.

Following his time in the Navy, Duane worked as a skilled machinist for 42 years. He loved his career and was always highly valued by his employers. Besides machining, he had also worked a dairy farm in upstate NY, as an auto mechanic in CT, and a coal miner in ND.

Outside of work he enjoyed fishing, bowling, and golf. In the 70's he was a little league coach for teams his children and nieces and nephews played on.

Duane had a very generous heart and a great love for people. He loved Jesus and was part of some wonderful church families over years. Church of Nazarene in Gouverneur, NY. Manchester Church of the Nazarene, Manchester CT. Fort Clark Church of the Nazarene, Fort Clark, ND. Rockville Church of the Nazarene, Rockville, CT. Willimantic Church of the Nazarene, Willimantic, CT. And his final church home, Lake Wildwood Baptist Church, Macon, GA

He deeply loved his children and it grieved him that half of them lived an ocean away. Before his cancer in 2004 he was a very active and fun grandfather. Sadly the last decade he was tired and more frail, but his grandchildren never doubted his love and it showed well in his playful teasing.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his six children. Arthur ( Charlotte "Charli" ) Alison Howard, Helen McNulty ( Pete ), Joseph ( Giulietta ) , Clinton ( Jane ) and Angelia Greenfield ( David ) .
His fifteen grandchildren. Oliver, John, Amanda, Lauren, Katie, Scott, Brook, Paul, Christina, Stephanie, Kristen, Garrett, Rebecka, Renáe and Andrew.
He was expecting his tenth great grandchild this coming February.
He is also survived by his siblings; Adrian ( Blanche ) , Gerald ( Sarah ) , Michael , Verla Namyniuk, Sandra Romanyshyn ( Myron ) , Linda Gregory ( Larry ) , and Kimberly Moormann
As well as several nieces and nephews and others who considered him a father, grandfather, or Uncle.
He is pre-deceased by his parents and his sisters Judy Bauer, Jane Huffman, and Pamela Rahn .

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 am Tuesday, November 21st, 2017 at the Lake Wildwood Baptist Church 701 Greentree Parkway, Macon, GA 31220 His nephew, Pastor Paul Dziadul will perform the service. A reception will follow on the grounds.
