Condolence: I was sorry to read of Mr. Cherkawsky's passing in the Edmonton Journal this morning. In 2005, I had the pleasure of interviewing him for an oral history that is on file at the Strathcona County Museum and Archives. We were recording the memories of the first five families who moved to Sherwood Park and he also shared stories about how he came to Canada and his family back in Ukraine. He was a lovely man with such interesting stories to tell. My condolences to your family.

Condolence: Dearest Family, our thoughts and prayers are with you as we all fondly remember your father's great legacy. He was an amazing, kind man and your father and mother were wonderful friends to our parents. They would remember the many choir practices, dances and events at the church as it was being built. A few times a month, the clan would get together at someone's house for breakfast after church and I remember my dad and I planning the menu to ensure there was food that your dad would eat. God bless you all - you are all part of your parents.

We are so sorry for the loss of your Dad and Grandpa. He was a wonderful man. I will never forget how he always waited for the kids at the bus stop when I would drop them off. His grand kids lit up his eyes. He was always kind, giving and full of life. We are sending you love, light and healing prayers.HUGS!

Condolence: Your father was a lovely man, Darka. I remember his laugh and wonderful sense of humour. He always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his lips. You were blessed to have such loving, supportive and fun-loving parents and we were lucky to be included in their circle of "extended family" as that's how they made me (and I"m sure so many others) feel.

Sending you much love to you and all the family.
