Condolence From: Harold and Vicki Savik
Condolence: From Harold: Gene has been a long-time friend of ours from grade school through high school in Charlo. Losing him is like losing a brother. Gene and I joined the Patrol together and spent many coffee breaks catching up on each other's news. After retirement, Gene was working in the livestock sale ring, and if I needed a few head of young calves, I would give Gene the word, and shortly I would receive a phone call stating I was the new owner of half a dozen calves. We never received a bad animal from him. Gene, I will miss you until I join you. H. Savik MHP 258 Retired.
From Vicki: I will remember Gene for his infectious laugh and giggle and his being a prankster. Once at the sale ring, I was sitting in the audience and Gene 'poked' a calf. It raised its tail, turned and let fly -- right down the inside of my blouse. Needless to say, he laughed and laughed and never ever let me forget it. Gene, I will definitely miss you. Please save me a seat in the next life's livestock sale ring audience. Vicki, high school class mate.
We're unable to attend the funeral as we are in Yuma for the winter.
