Obituary for Monica Renee Frink (Lewis)

On August 30, 1984 at 6:36 a.m., Monica Renee was born to the parents of TJ and Murleece Lewis. She was the 3rd of 4 girls born to this union. She was baptized at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in 1992 and later joined Zion Hill Baptist Church under the tutelage of Dr. Aaron L. Parker in 2001. She became a member of Youth League for Christ and later joined the Voices of Oluwa choir.

Monica was educated through the Atlanta Public School Systems, graduating from Benjamin E. Mays High school as a Mays Raider with the class of 2002. While attending Benjamin E. Mays High School, Monica joined ROTC where she met her high-school sweetheart Vermon Frink, Jr. in 2002. In the fall she attended Albany State University where she graduated and received her Bachelors in Business Management and Marketing. After graduating from Albany State University in 2006, Monica went on to work as a housing counselor at Money Management International.

Monica married Vermon on September 14, 2013. This union was blessed with two handsome sons; Amar’e (6) and Jordan (1).

Monica grew up playing spades and bowling. After marrying her husband she learned a game that was new to her but old too many called Bid Whist. You could find her every Sunday at her parent’s house engaged in a competitive family Bid Whist Tournament. Over the years, she grew to love football. No matter what team, she always rooted for the underdog. She loved her 90’s R&B music. And last but not least, if you knew Monica, you knew she loved her sweets. It had to go with every meal.

Monica gained her wings on November 16, 2017 at 12:24 a.m. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband and best friend Vermon; two children, Amar’e and Jordan; her parents, TJ and Murleece Lewis; her sisters, Phaedra Lewis, Adrianne Lewis and Aleecia Daniels; her mother-in-law, Jacqueline McCray; a brother-in-law, Anthony Evans; a sister-in-law, Khadiyah Tejan; three nieces, Amaya, Mariah, and Harmony; three nephews, Jaylen, Da’Vavion, and Marc De’Anthony; along with a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
