Obituary for Jetrue Batson

Jetrue  Batson
Mrs. Jetrue Carolyn (Hill) Batson, of Malvern, formerly of Newark, departed this life on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at the age of 87. She was born July 1, 1930 at Big Creek Community, the daughter of Cecil W. and Jetta (Barber) Hill.
Mrs. Batson spent many years as a seamstress, and also worked for International Shoe Company and Freeze Brothers Grocery. She enjoyed working puzzles, crocheting, and sewing. Mrs. Batson had great talent as a seamstress, able to create many things, especially loved quilting. She was a people person who never met a stranger. Her greatest love was the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Batson was a member of the Magness Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of 37 years Allen L. Batson; one son, Allen Wayne Batson; three brothers, Joe Bill Hill, Dwight Hill, and Jim Hill.
Mrs. Batson is survived by one son, David Scott Batson and wife, Lynn, of Hot Springs; one daughter, Pamela Wilmans of Little Rock; seven grandchildren, Angela Lane and husband, Jay, of Little Rock, Kelly Magness of Newark, Delanea Edwards of Newport, Tessa Higgins and husband, Jeff, of North Little Rock, Jesse Batson of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ashlen Thomason and husband, Dustin, of Little Rock, and Brady Batson of Sheridan; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday, November 24, 2017, 12:30 until service time. Funeral services will follow at Jackson’s Newark Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. John Jennings and Jerry Medlock officiating. Interment will be in Sulphur Rock Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Kelly Magness, Jessie Batson, Brady Batson, Jay Lane, Jeff Higgins, and Dustin Thomason.
