John and I were comrades at Dyess AFB. He was my squad leader in the 96th APS K9 Section.
We both volunteer to take part in Project Top Dog 45. I will try to upload our orders, and one photo I have of him.
After our return, I stayed 60 more days to help train our replacements, from Vietnam, I shipped back out to Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. Due to the quick turn around, John and I never saw each other again. I was discharge in Nov. 1966 upon my return from Cam Ranh Bay.
Over the years, I have searched the internet for some information on him, but until last evening, 6/1/2018, there was no news.
I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing. John was truely one of the good guys, in everything he did.
I remember him as quiet, soft spoken but friendly to everyone. He was cool and professional in his duties as both a squad leader and a Sentry Dog Handler.
My sincere and deep felt condolences to all who miss him.
Yours,
Elbert (Ken) Maddox.
