Obituary for Hugo Shelby Wilcox

Hugo Shelby Wilcox
Hugo Shelby Wilcox of Fenton, Missouri was born on August 13, 1931, a son to the late John Wilcox and the late Eura (Belew) Wilcox. On September 30, 1950, Hugo was united in marriage to Wilma German and four children were born unto this union.

Hugo entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Kindred Hospital having reached the age of eighty-six years, three months, and eight days.

Hugo was a gentle man with a big heart who truly loved God and his family, little kids and animals; especially cats and dogs. When he saw or heard of people hurting or sick, you could see tears well up in his eyes, and he prayed for them, even if he didn’t know them, because his heart went out to them as he felt their pain. He is a man who will be so greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Hugo will be missed by all who knew and loved him including his beloved wife, Wilma Wilcox of Fenton; four children: Linda Bushnell and husband Scott of Barnhart, Velva Davidter and husband Chris of Arnold, Ken Wilcox and wife Elaina of Catawissa, and Tina Wilcox of Imperial; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; also surviving are dear friends and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Hugo is preceded in death by his brothers: Cecil Wilcox, Leis Wilcox, Robert Wilcox, John Wilcox, Doris Wilcox, and Charles Wilcox; sisters: Billy Sullivan and Peggy Poston; and a special nephew raised as his brother, Don Wilcox.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the First Assembly of God Church of Potosi, beginning at 11:00 AM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Gary Greenlee officiating.
