Obituary for
Stephen Mersel
After a courageous fight against cancer Stephen passed away, as he lived, with his family by his side. Stephen was a big part of so many lives and he was loved by all. Our Stephen really loved to talk. He could stay up all night chatting and those will be some of the most memorable nights. There are not enough words to describe the loss we are feeling. Stephen is truly an amazing person and 23 is way too young to have to say goodbye. He will be missed by his parents Glenn and Alice, his twin brother and best friend Michael, sister Samantha (James Henderson) grandparents Rita, his constant companion, and Daniel (deceased) Lonergan, & Peter and Dorothy (deceased) Mersel, Godparents Kevin Mersel and Mary Arsenault, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, as well as amazing friends we consider family. Many thanks to Dr. G. Thompson and the 17B nursing staff at Princess Margaret Hospital and Dr. R. Jang, Dr. J. Cho and especially Dr. E. Mak who did an exceptional job providing care and support through his journey. We would also like to thank the Saint Elizabeth nursing staff who joined us in our home and always made Stephen feel like he was more than just a patient.
