Mr. Hodges is preceded in death by his father and mother: Canada Clinton Hodges and Ina Mae Durham Hodges, two brothers: Robert “Bob” Hodges, Marion “Putt” Hodges, two half- brothers: Gentry Hodges, Charles Hammitt, and one half -sister: Iris Hammitt.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 70 years: Palma Tate Hodges, daughters: Anita Hodges Taylor, Patricia “Trish” Hodges Johnson, Sherri Hodges White, sister: Ella dean Hodges Lett, grandchildren: Clinton Lynn Taylor, Leslie Erin Taylor, Wesley Reagan Taylor, Andrea Shae Suranofsky, Ashley Paige Johnson, Spenser Alex White, 9 great-granddaughters, 1 great-grandson, special brother-in-law: Marshall Tate, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church in Gray, Tennessee. The service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Jody Jenkins and Dr. Gene Lasley officiating. Pallbearers to serve will be grandsons: Jeff White, Richard Taylor, Danny Jenkins and Jerry Moody.
Honorary pallbearers: Tim Tipton, Harry Vicars, David Fish, and Members of the Gideon Sunday school class of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church.
An entombment service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at East Tennessee Funeral Home Cemetery, 2630 Highway 75 Blountville, Tennessee. Military Rites by American Legion Post #33 and Gate City Post #365.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missions fund of Buffalo Baptist Church in Gray, Tennessee.
