Obituary for Elmer C. Pionk

Elmer C. Pionk
Elmer C. Pionk, longtime resident of Roseville, died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on December 4, 2017. He was 82 years of age.

Elmer was born in Paris Township, Michigan on August 5, 1935, a son of the late Leo and Teresa (Glaza) Pionk. He was united in marriage to his loving wife, Bernadine David, on June 1, 1957 at Our Lady Help of Christians in Detroit. The couple made their home in Roseville in 1959 and their union was blessed with five children of whom he loved and cherished. Elmer made a career as a Tool and Die maker for over 40 years, retiring from General Motors in 2008. While the children were growing, he enjoyed taking his family to their cottage in Lexington where they all shared many lasting memories. He always looked forward to the summer months for he loved golfing and enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden. Elmer also enjoyed bowling and playing cards with friends and family. Above all, Elmer was a great provider for his family and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed and will stay steadfast in our hearts forever.

Elmer is the beloved husband of 60 years to Bernadine; dear father of Terry (Dante) Vacca, Patti Pionk, Denise (Daniel) Neych, David and Christopher Pionk; cherished grandfather of Brandon (Karen), Sarah, Rachel, Ashley, Daniel III, Miranda and Adam; and dearest brother of the late Marvin and Gerald.
