Mary Brauch (nee Smart), longtime resident of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 5, 2017 at the age of 88. Mary was born in Waukesha, WI May 27, 1929. She married the love her life Earl on October 16, 1948. Mary was an active member of the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ in Waukesha for over 48 years. She always wore lovely hats to church on Sunday, where she was involved in all aspects of the church, including teaching Sunday school. Mary was known for her unique and creative cake decorating skills, including birthday, wedding, and other beautiful cakes. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them more than anything. Mom was a member of the 4-H club in Waukesha County during the 1960’s where she was a member for 11 years. She involved the entire family in the many activities. Mary was a wonderful polka dancer. She will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor.

Mary will be dearly missed by her 3 children, Linda (Dan) McKnight, Calvin Brauch and Scott Brauch; 7 grandchildren, Jeff McKnight, Kimberly (Richard) Robertson, Jason (Tammy) Brauch, Brian (Heidi) Brauch, Laura Brauch Bowey, Scott Brauch Jr., Robert Brauch; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great -great grandchild; 2 Sisters Helen Butterfield and Marlene Books. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
The visitation for Mary will be held from 10:00am until the time of the funeral service 12:00 noon funeral on Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Cesarz Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53188. The burial will immediately follow at prairie Home Cemetery Waukesha, WI.
