Obituary for Francis C. Adams
Francis C. Adams, 94, of Rotterdam passed away on Saturday December 9, 2017 at the Loving Home for Mom or Dad in Rexford. Born in Fulton, NY, he was the son of Ralph and Lovina ( Swart) Adams.
He was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Francis served his country in the Army in World War 2.
Francis was employed as the Head Custodian for the Mohonasen School District for 26 years, retiring in 1985.
Francis was a member of the Rotterdam United Methodist Church. He served as a trustee for the church and served on many church committees.
He was also a member of the Rotterdam Democratic Club, the NYS Conservation Officers Association and was also a charter member of the World War 2 memorial association.
Francis is predeceased by his loving wife Ruth M. (Kemp) Adams whom he married July 6, 1946, a brother Ralph Adams and a half brother Ronald C. Bellinger.
Francis is survived by his two loving children Wendy L. Nelson (Garth) of Clifton Park and Ernest C. Adams (Barbara) of Roswell, GA. He is also survived by five loving grandchildren- Michael Adams (Rebecca), Matthew Adams (Laura), Ammon Nelson (Calie), Sarah Nelson and Jordan Nelson (Stephanie) as well as 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Francis will be Monday December 18, 2017 at 10AM at the Rotterdam United Methodist Church 1915 Helderberg Avenue Rotterdam. Calling Hours will be Sunday evening 5-7PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.
Interment with military honors will be at Memory Gardens in Colonie.
